Sustainability has always been a huge priority for us here at Woodland Park. From our very early beginnings, making sure we have as little impact on the environment as possible has been a key part of our ethos.
This level of commitment continues today, and so we are extremely proud to have won the ‘Investing in Sustainability’ Award at the Inspiring North Norfolk business event.
Specifically chosen because of our leisure club’s reduction in energy consumption thanks to the use of a new pool cover, the award also recognised our many other sustainability initiatives.
Celebrating and recognising local businesses for their achievements in several key business sectors including innovation, rural diversification, sustainability and people, the awards are designed to help inspire other businesses to look at the positive changes they can make too.

“We’re always looking for new ways to lower our carbon footprint,” comments Joe Harrison, complex facility and safety manager. “Being situated within this wonderful part of North Norfolk, in 80 acres of woodland, we not only want to protect the environment and species that live alongside us here, but we also want to make the facilities run as efficiently as possible.
“The new pool cover is specially designed to retain as much heat as possible – in fact, our heating bills have reduced our energy consumption by 30% since it was installed, which is incredible.
“Being able to save energy by making seemingly small changes is what we’re all about. We want our holiday home owners to enjoy coming to this very special countryside retreat, knowing that they are part of an environmentally-conscious park.”
